Private audio is audio uploaded by you that is only visible to you. To record private audio you should:
Press the + button on your navigation menu
Record or upload your audio
Above your name, you will see a button that says Public, tap on it and select Private
Then save and click Post
The audio will not appear on the Home screen, because it is private. But you can check it on your Account screen, in the Private tab.
